More and more winter sports resorts are creating toboggan runs. Here, we recommend our favourites so your whole family can make the most of their stay in the snow.
At the ski and toboggan park, all styles of tobogganing are allowed! From beginners to thrill-seekers, all toboggan fans are sure to love the place. The ideal place to go for large families, who’ll find something to please everyone there.

A groomed, safe toboggan run in the heart of the village. It’s even equipped with small bumps so kids can familiarise themselves with all the thrills of tobogganing. For older kids, there’s another safe toboggan run at the Montagnes de Lans downhill ski area.

Ski lift
With 17 000 square metres of safe groomed slopes, this fun area includes 4 toboggan runs. 2 green for the little ones who are new to sledging, a steeper blue one and a red one for the more adventurous.
To make the most of it, the toboggan area is lit on Saturdays from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

Ski lift
Chamrousse takes its tobogganing seriously! The toboggan park has a track with more than 2 km of descent and 315 metres of vertical drop including banked turns and bumps. It really is a thrilling ride!
The run is open in the evening during ski nights.

Very close to Grenoble, the resort of Vaujany has several toboggan runs. For the little ones, there are 2 slopes on the snow front. And the third, reserved for older kids, is located in the heart of the ski area with access by cable car. There’s something to satisfy all sledging fans!

If you want to go sledging in the evening or even on the ski slopes, check with the tourist office in your resort: "night sledging" events generally reserved for adults are sometimes organised.
Please note that access to all these slopes depends, of course, on the snow conditions.

It’s very simple: take your ski equipment and good après-ski snow boots, and you’re fully equipped!
When sledging, your hands are used a lot to brake and steer, and they’re quite close to the snow, so go for a good pair of waterproof ski gloves / mittens.
We can’t say it too many times, but for you, like your kids, a helmet is essential for all winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, sledging etc).
A ski mask, to protect your eyes from UV rays and maintain good vision even when you pick up speed.
- Don’t set off down the track while another sledge is heading down in front of you to avoid any risk of collision.
- Go back up the sides of the run so you don’t get in the way of other sledgers.
- You must not go sledging on ski slopes or mountain roads, even if they’re snow-covered.
