Features of the product

A word from the product manager
This new Wed'ze model offers the same hi-tech features as the Foraker 500: - thermoformable liner that fully adapts to your foot; - powerful and easy knob & cable tightening system; - very lightweight, cushioning EVA sole (80% air) that insulates from cold ground; - medium rigidity to easily steer your board on all terrains. This year, we're delighted to be offering a 500 model for girls.
Why the name
The Maoke mountains in Indonesia attain an altitude of 4,884 m. When it was opened in 1979, this resort was the second highest in the world before the glacier melt. Our women's boots are named after them. The numbers (300 & 500) indicate the level of foot support. Indeed, the faster you go when snowboarding, the more pressure you put on the board through your boot: this means that the foot must be properly secured inside the boot to minimise any unwanted foot movements.
2-zone Cable Lock tightening system
Cable Lock: very powerful cable tightening system with a knob. Simply turn the knob to tighten. This provides effortless and effective boot tightening. A 1/4 turn in the opposite direction and the system is opened, making it easy to open up the tongue.
Boot flex/stiffness
The Maoke 500 offers a medium flex. It is ideal for women who carve out turns at very high speed (stiff boot required). It also reacts quickly in tight turns and surprise bumps, given the relatively soft flex of the boot, which allows you to bend and extend your knees quickly. The Bullwhip 500 is half-way between the two. The flex and heel support are both superior to the Maoke 300 boot.
Heel support: level 2 liner
Foot support is essential when snowboarding in order to correctly steer the board. The foot must be properly secured in the liner, and the liner properly secured in the boot. The level 2 liner applies 5 concepts: 1. Thermoformable liner alone, at home, 2. Ergonomic heel pad ankle foam, 3. 3-point liner fastening, 4. Wide hook & loop link between the liner and boot, 5. Double foam: double layer of foam at the tongue on the instep, for support and comfort.
Autonomous liner thermoforming
- Heat up your oven in convection mode to 80 °C - Remove the insoles from the liners and lay the liners on the tray of the oven lined with greaseproof paper - Leave for 15 minutes - Replace the sockliners, put on a pair of ski-snowboard socks, step into the liners and tighten them at your convenience. Then put on the snowboard boots and tighten them - Wait for 15 minutes, without moving, preferably in an upright position It is possible to repeat this operation.
Ergonomic heel pad ankle foam
The ankle foam fills the space below and behind the ankle to secure the heel in place. The level 2 liner contains a foam made in an exclusive Wed'ze material and shape: - the shape was designed using an average of 40 foot scans. It is ideal for properly securing the foot in place and can be adapted to everyone. - the material: is a soft and firm elastomer foam. You can feel the support as soon as you slip your feet inside. And when you're riding, there are no pressure points.
3-point liner fastening
3-point tightening (instead of the 4-point system) offers 2 major advantages: - support: it blocks the heel very effectively because there is less friction with the laces and a maximum amount of energy is transferred to the 3rd and final tightening point, situated at the ankle, thereby providing optimum support. - warmth: given that there is no 4th tightening point at the instep, the blood flows more easily to the toes. This keeps your toes warm.
Wide hook & loop link between the liner and boot
We have added 2 rip-tabs between the liner and the boot, one each side of the liner. The retention surface between the liner and boot is 3 times greater on the 500 models than on the 300 models. What for? To help prevent the liner from slipping inside the boot, so it's easier to steer the board.
Double Foam
We have added a 2nd thickness of foam on the tongue, at the instep, for 2 reasons: - to help secure the foot at the bottom of the liner - to increase comfort by preventing the lace from cutting off blood flow in this high-tension area.
Sole: grip, foothold, cushioning and thermal insulation
Our new Ultralight sole is 100% EVA. EVA is a very light material (80% air). This composition is designed to resist abrasion without compromising its cushioning properties. It has natural insulating properties and protects from the cold coming up from the ground. We have added big lugs for excellent grip. They are spaced relatively far apart for easy removal of snow.
