HOW TO CHOOSE SKATE SKI TOURING EQUIPMENT?
SKATE SKI TOURING

A newcomer in the cross-country skiing world, cross-country skate skiing
is essentially characterised by seeking glide on the snow using a skating motion.

Cross-country skate skis are smaller than classic cross-country skis.
They don't have an anti-reverse system to encourage maximum glide.Cross-country skis have the same structure and materials but in different quantities and distribution.

Before choosing a cross-country skate ski, it's important to take certain things into account:your fitness and your practice level and the compatibility of binding standards with your boots and body shape.
This means you can choose the best ski to meet your needs, the hardness of its camber and the right size ski.

A few articles ahead to help understand cross-country skate skiing as well as the technical terms used in this sport.

1 - DETERMINE
YOUR LEVEL

Depending on your targets, your physical ability and endurance or even your technical control,
cross-country skate skiing can be practised just as much for "sport" as "performance".
That's why it is important to evaluate these criteria to determine your level
and therefore the equipment that meets your needs!

2 - CHECK THE COMPATIBILITY OF BINDINGS

An important point when it comes to choosing you skate ski binding is ski/boot compatibility
There are 3 types of binding standards according to the brand. These different standards aren't always compatible and don’t let you attach skis and boots together.
All our INOVIK skis comes with NNN standard bindings from the Rottefella brand which have different options:
Rottefella Performance skating:Tool adjustment - the binding can be adjusted easily forwards or backwards to optimise grip and give better glide
Rottefella Xcelerator skating:Adjusting without a tool - Thanks to the unique Quicklock system, you can set the binding in the desired position easily and without tools and move it forward for better control or backwards for greater speed.
