Can I be sure my trousers will give me enough protection in bad weather?
The FREE 700 trousers are rigorously developed and assembled to prevent water from entering, ensuring greater comfort in bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To validate the waterproofing of these trousers, they were placed in a special shower that replicates the real-life conditions a skier may be faced with.
What is the purpose of my trousers' water repellent treatment?
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to allow water to run off its surface without seeping in. Wed’ze trousers have water resistant materials to prolong their resistance to bad weather and to prevent water from getting into the trousers. It is an additional technical solution to make sure you stay dry as long as possible throughout the day. This treatment must be regularly restored using products sold in our stores in order to maintain these properties.
I often hear people talk about "coated" trousers. What are the advantages of this coating?
The coating is a waterproof "substance" that is spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by physical exercise to escape. So you will stay dry and comfortable on the slopes
Water often gets in through the seams. Do my trousers have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof material, the seams of the FREE 700 trousers are taped for superior waterproofing. These are waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. The seams are taped in those areas that are most exposed to snow.
What is a membrane and what's it for?
The membrane is a very fine component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. In order to stay warm and dry, a membrane is essential.
How do my ski trousers keep me warm?
We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a polyester-based synthetic material that stores more or less air depending on the size of the fibres. There are different types of standard, high-tech and siliconised wadding, each with their own properties (for warmth, lightness, flexibility, etc.)
What are "breathable" trousers?
This is the ski trousers' capacity to let the moisture produced during physical activity escape to the outside so that you stay dry. The breathability of a fabric is assessed by measuring its evaporative resistance, called RET (ISO 11092 standardised test). The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wedze uses technical components and solutions (zips, air vents, mesh) that prevent condensation inside the garment.
How should I dress to avoid feeling cold on the slopes?
In order to stay warm and dry, we recommend that you wear 2 layers. Your skiing base layer and your trousers. Your ski trousers protect you from bad weather. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.
How can I prevent snow from getting in when I fall?
Attach the jacket's snow skirt to your trousers. Trousers often have small eyelets at the waist to which you can attach the jacket's snow skirt. So you will prevent snow and air from entering during practice and especially in case of falling.
How can I be sure my trousers are strong enough?
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.
Can I compare the products' environmental impact?

Built-in Recco system
With the RECCO® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Someone who is equipped with RECCO® reflectors and is buried in the snow can be quickly and accurately located by the emergency services using the RECCO® tracker. RECCO reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. The RECCO technology has a complementary function, thereby increasing the chances of being found in time.
