All ski and snowboard freestyling champions are in the starting blocks : they are about to head out to THE event of the season, the Aspen Winter X-Games, which are to take place from 22nd to 25th of January 2015. Always wanted to know more about this fancy sport ?
And you, what did you do this summer ? While we were all enjoying the beach or the dramatic scenery of the mountains, The Olympic Vice Champion in Half Pipe and Wed’ze technical partner Marie Martinod was already getting ready for next winter. And also preparing a nice surprise : the release of “For My People”, her movie.
Away from the freeski scene since 2007, Marie Martinod made a pretty remarkable come back in 2013. One must believe that taking time for herself, to build a life outside of skiing, filled her with an unfailing energy.
Thursday the 6th of March 2014 was held in Tignes the spotlight event of the season for all those, ladies and gentlement, that love skiing in the most happy sense: The “Air Ladies”, co-organized by Tignes resort and the Olympic Vice-Champion in Ski Half Pipe Marie Martinod, with Wed’ze as a partner.
Marie Martinod, Ski Superpipe Olympic Vice-Champion and Wed’ze Technical Partner, is a passionate skier. Always in the field, between her duties as a mother, the trainings and the competitions, Marie knows what is handy, comfy, trendy but as well essential in terms of skiing equipment.
After a few crazy days, peace has come back to Aspen. A few days during which the resort lived by the rythm of the 2014 edition of X Games and the rythm of the flights, per say, the internationaly renowned athletes coming from all over the Planet were undertaking for the famous competition.
As from this Wednesday 22nd of January 2014, and until Sunday, all eyes are on Aspen, Colorado, USA. And you could say the event had an explosive start.
This 18th of January 2014 was a celebration day of freeskiing at Park City Mountain Resort with the 2nd U.S Grand Prix of the season in slopestyle and halfpipe. A “rendez-vous” no athlete could miss and an amazing show for the public.
20 years old and a free, slope and big air styler, Maxime Meunier has ridden for Wed’ze for 3 seasons already. We found him training all-out at the Early Camp in Val Thorens. He talked to us about his objectives and how he works with Wed’ze.
