Sainte-Foy-en-Tarentaise, a paradise for freeriding and family skiing.

At the heart of the Tarentaise region, in Savoie, right in the middle of all the big resorts with an international reputation like Tignes, Val d’Isère, La Plagne or Les Arcs, is a little paradise of nature, rich of unseen experiences and sensations to discover. A hamlet registered on the Historical Monuments list, an authentic village with a traditional architecture, a rapid access from Bourg-Saint-Maurice and a preserved environment, with hotel, B&B or private residence accomodation, the resort of Sainte-Foy-en-Tarentaise has everything. And even more, as this little moutain paradise is most of all one of the most beautiful freeride spots of the area, as well as a peace haven for families. Discovery of a little resort out of the ordinary.

From the first skiing sensations to the great off pistes routes, from 890m high at Viclaire to 3746m at La Grande Sassière, from snowshoes to spa, Sainte-Foy knows how to do the splits and satisfy kids as well as adults, skiers as welle as wanderers, Nature lovers as well as modern comfort aficionados. Yet, with its 4 skilifts, 2 ski mats and 15 slopes, Sainte-Foy doesn’t look at first sight as what it is in reality.

In fact, as little and pretty as it may be, Sainte-Foy has everything like the big resorts. A nature territory of 11000 hectares including 20 km of border with Italy allows it to offer to its guests whole days of discovery with no boredom ever. its South West exposure guarantees excellent snow coverage and snow quality. Its skiing domain going from 1550m to 2620 allows you to glide in the middle of larch forests or ski in high altitude with an amazing view.

But most of all, its 3 Frreride courses as well as its immense off pistes domain with its great routes like the Monal, or the famous “Face nord de la Fogliettaz” and its course of 1700m, can easily stand up to the neighbouring big resorts. An ideal playground for core freeriders. And because Sainte-Foy loves freeriding and the freeriders, it has its own “powder alarm” you can suscribe to, which will warn you in case of heavy snow falls. Fat skis and swallow tails’ heaven.

And if Sainte-Foy was able to preserve all its charm, its quietness and preserved environment, it didn’t stop it from taking in all the modern comfort. And it has done so applying a policy of ethical and sustainable development, by preserving the architectural traditional style, but giving it all the modern comfort and proposing the same services you can find in the biggest resorts.

Spas open to the public, accomodation for all prices and comfort, guides and ski schools, bars and restaurants, mini-club and kids’ activities, Sainte-Foy is the ideal spot for families as well as fresh powder snow addicts. And thanks to its proximity with Italy, Sainte-Foy is able to propose heli drops for these addicts (Heli drop being forbidden in France, it is done on the Italian side while the descent is made on the French side).

And if needed be, you can add to all of this that Sainte-Foy is offering the best of good deals: free mini-club for 7 nights booked, one week rent at the Ruitor residence and they offer the the ski rental, promotion weeks in April, special freeriding week-ends…

We would recommend you to have a go and see for yourself what it is like to spend some time in Sainte-Foy. But that can only be a recommendation. However, we can tell you for certain that if you went there, you would come back feeling more alive than ever.
